Restylane® is an FDA approved clear, non-animal-based, biodegradable gel that is composed of hyaluronic acid. Injected into the facial tissue, Restylane® is used to restore volume to the face and improve the appearance of the wrinkles and folds temporarily, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugars found in the human body. Recent research indicates the injectable filler stimulates the growth of new collagen, and possibly prevents its breakdown.

How Does It Work?
The product is injected into the wrinkle that is present at rest, filling the crease just below the top layer of skin (superficially). Once filled, the wrinkle is less apparent causing the skin to look smoother.

Are Restylane® injections Painful?
Numbing cream can be applied to the area prior to the injection. After about ten minutes, the area will be numbed on the surface making a less painful injection. Restylane® also has Lidocaine powder mixed in the hyaluronic gel which aides in a more comfortable experience.

Are The Results Immediate?
Yes. Right after the injection you will see the wrinkle that was injected has an improved appearance. However, you will experience some swelling in the area so you will want to wait at least four to five days to see the end result of the injection.
