General dentistry for children, sometimes called family dentistry, is your assurance that Today's Dental is prepared to treat every member of your family, ages 5 to 100!

Good oral hygiene is a very important part in the health of your child. Proper oral hygiene has a significant influence on the formation of cavities. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that every child be seen by a dentist within their first year. Even though your child will not have all of his/her primary (baby) teeth in at this time, it is important for the dentist to examine your child’s mouth to make sure that no problems exist or will be encountered. This visit is also aimed at educating parents and providing anticipatory guidance for the prevention of dental disease. After the first visit, your child will need to be seen at age 2 and then 3. After your child’s visit at age 3, regular 6-month recall visits are encouraged.
